Always treat firearms like they are loaded. Always.
Always keep the muzzle pointed downrange.
Always keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot.
All shooters must be aware of their target and what is behind it.
Commands issued by Range Officers and Range personnel must be obeyed immediately and without question.
Eye protection and ear protection are mandatory at all times.
Tracer, armor piercing, incendiary, and all other ammunition containing steel (including core, tip, plating or jacket) are prohibited.
No one other than the Range Officer may go forward of the firing line.
No loading or unloading of firearms except on bench in shooting port.
Shooter must know and understand all of the operating and safety features of the firearms they are using prior to shooting in the range.
Report any unsafe activity or conditions to the Range Officer or manager immediately.
Never bring a loaded firearm out of the range. If your gun malfunctions, lay it on the bench facing downrange and notify the Range Officer or use the booth intercom to contact range personnel.
No firearm handling will be allowed outside the shooting booth. No exceptions.
Food, beverages, gum, smoking and tobacco are prohibited.
When the command “Cease Fire” is given, stop shooting IMMEDIATELY and wait for further instructions from the Range Safety Officer.
Use the appropriate size target, placed at eye level, to ensure that your shots strike the backstop and not the floor, ceiling or target holder. Firing a shot on the range that results in the bullet striking anything other than the target and/or backstop may result in a damage or repair fine and/or your removal from the range.
Only shoot at your target; cross firing of targets is prohibited.
Always wash your hands immediately after shooting and/or gun cleaning.
Range Safety Officers reserve the right to inspect all firearms and ammunition for safety considerations.
Cell phone usage on any kind, including texting, is strictly prohibited on the range.
Shotgun may be used on the range with lead projectiles only.
If you have brought more than one firearm, use only one at a time and, when finished, case the unloaded firearm and its ammunition before uncasing the next one. Only one firearm may be used per person at a time.
If you wish to draw from a holster, you must have been approved by on-duty Range Safety Officer.
Double Tap or Point Shooting practice may only be executed after notification of intent to do so with the Range Safety Officer. The shooter ability will be observed, and continued practice will be at the sole discretion of the Range Safety Officer.
Expecting mothers are not allowed on the range at any time.
No retrieval of spent cartridges or anything dropped across the firing line is permitted.
Range Officer has the right to eject or refuse anyone access to the range.
All firearms must arrive and leave the range in a case or holster. No uncased or unholstered firearms may leave the port.
ONLY Stir and Shoot Training Academy Staff may offer instruction.
